Vikings Go Berserk is a 5×4 grid game from Yggdrasil with 25 lines in play. It is a sequel to the popular Vikings go Wild game and there is also the latest version to it – Vikings Go To Hell. Obviously it a series by now and this is definitely a sign of success.
That is not a surprise because the game has some innovative features and it exciting as well. This is probably the game with the most ways to get to free spins bonus, and there are even some variations to that as well. So, it will keep you playing for a while.
To start with, there is a Rage meter for each of the four Viking characters. Any time you collect a win with one of these characters, Rage meter increases. When the rage meter is complete, free spins start with that particular Viking in a Rage mode. Another way to start the free spins is to collect at least three or more special symbols. More special symbols will activate more free spins, seven free spins are the default for the three symbols. You can also start the bonus with the help from Treasure Chest, a single symbol that awards either coins of free spins. There is also a Golden Treasure Chest, obviously, an improved version of it that awards even better options, one of them being Ragnarok Free spins. So, there are a lot of options.
Mostly you will start the bonus with 7 free spins. Whenever one of the Viking symbols land on the grid, they will fight with evil Siren. Should they win the fight, they will transform into the sticky Wild symbol that will stay in the position for the rest of the bonus allowing for nice wins. Unfortunately, Vikings will much more often lose the fight with the Siren. There is where the Rage kicks in. If any of the Vikings that are in berserk mode (rage to the maximum) lands on the wheel, they will beat the Siren every time. That means more wilds and more chances to win big. Ragnarok is the ultimate option, all four Vikings are in the berserk mode and all four will win every fight with the Siren. Meaning, huge wins are possible.
Vikings Go Berserk is a fun and exciting game. Rather than having different bonuses, it offers variations on those bonuses. It also offers a few ways to get to the bonus which makes it interesting to play. If only with Vikings were a bit more successful against the Siren, but hey, who are we to judge the Viking’s fighting styles.
You will spend a good time waiting for the Ragnarok, the end of the world in Norse mythology, but it is definitely worth it.
