Mystery Museum is a slot from Push Gaming set on a classic 5×3 grid. What is nowadays unusual practice is that the game uses 10 pay lines only. However, that is well compensated with the payouts so declared RTP is 96,58% and Top Award is capped at 17,500 times the bet.
Graphics and sounds are pleasant and well executed. Museum theme allows for a mixture of different symbols, from Samurai helmets to Greek or Egyptian inspired items. No card suites or values were used here so it will take a while to get used to value of symbols.
Game uses Mystery Stacks that come stacked three symbols high. Should you collect three or more of those during the regular game, they will cover the entire reel and then reveal the same symbol. So you can end up with the entire screen full of same symbols like in this video. Mystery stacks symbols pay on all 10 lines even if they are not adjacent to each other. This reminds very much to Book of Ra type of play. Next feature is the Power Gamble. Basically, any win that is greater than 2x the bet can then be gambled and you can even choose the odds at which to try your luck. This screen reminds strongly to “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” setup mixed with a Three Card Monte game. Goal here is to reach 100x the bet that could then trigger the bonus round, but obviously that is not that easy.
You can trigger the bonus either reaching the mentioned 100x the bet in the Power Gamble or by collecting at least three Samurai Wilds. Default number of free spins is 8 for 3 Samurai, while you get 10 for 4 and 12 for 5. Even collecting three is quite rare and since the bonus is worth 100 times the bet, it is supposed to be quite volatile. Once in the free spins, it is all about collecting Mystery Stacks. Once you get them, they lock in place so you get a chance for a nice win every subsequent spin. Naturally, the earlier you get them the more chances you have of landing something nice. If not, you might end up winning 0,4 times your bet like in this video. Bonuses paying that much are hard to find. If you win over 100x the bet in bonus round, you can rebuy it again for 100x the bet and bank the rest. Interesting concept.
Mystery Museum is another success from Push Gaming. The game finds the right balance between regular game and bonus round. So, regular game can pay nicely but at the same time bonuses are not easy to get and when they do come, there is no guarantee anything significant can be won. But there is potential to strike it big just like in this video from Slotspinner. Overall, a good game, although not even close to Push Gaming’s best ever – Razor Shark.
