Here is Thunderkick’s take on the “Book of..” series. Meaning 5×3 grid with only 10 paylines. To be more precise, it is Legacy of Dead clone with a bit of build up in the bonus. I guess it should have been called Book of Khans or Legacy of Khans, just for people to know what to expect.
Game looks great and feels great though. It has this contrasting dark/light color palette that really brings out the most important symbols like the Sword or Khan.
Features:
Regular game is what it is, nothing very exciting going on there. However, it seems that decent wins by the higher value symbols are not very rare, so you will be getting the 40 or 50 times the bet wins as in this video. Fifth top symbol almost landed on the line too. I know it was pretty far in the random number generator, but near miss sounds good.
As usual, you need to get into the bonus round for things to start to be interesting with expanding symbols like in all the “Book of …” series. To get there, you need the three or more Sword symbols anywhere on the screen. To start the bonus round, the number of free spins is decided and it can range from 5 to 15 to start with.
Bonus:
Next, a special symbol is decided and it is shown on the sword next to the number of free spins. Free spins can re-trigger, with only two Swords needed this time, and that is when it gets interesting. With every new re-trigger, another symbol gets the expanding ability. But, unlike Legacy of Dead, same symbol can repeat and in that case, it becomes a multiplier, paying double and then triple if it repeats one more time. Triple is also the maximum multiplier.
You can check in the following video how interesting it gets if you get a few interesting re-triggers with multipliers on a good symbol. Potentials are huge, up to 10,000 the bet on each spin.
Verdict:
Sword of Khans does not disappoint. It is one of the Book of versions, but it is exciting and has a lot of potential for huge wins. I do enjoy playing this variation of the game and can highly recommend it.
Re-triggering the free spins can obviously make the bonus last for a while and that is exactly what you need. It is one of the potentially longer bonus rounds in all of the games. Check out what Casino Daddy lined up in this video.
