Regular game:

King Kong Cash is a game from 2016, published by BluePrint gaming, division of Merkur. I love everything about King Kong theme: movies, comics, whatever. And I was hoping to add this game to the list based on the first impression. Graphics are cute, however, sound lags a bit behind and is not as exciting. Except from the Kong’s “uuugh” when you miss the third bonus symbol, check it out here.

Game pace is slow, it takes a while to show all the combinations winning small amounts, plus there is an irritating stop of under a second between spins.

Features:

Looks like Blueprint decided to pack a lot of features in the game. There are five ways of spicing up the regular games. Basically, King Kong that is usually sleeping next to the reels will wake up and give you a random feature. These are “Banana Cannon Wilds” “Golden Barrel Super Spin” “Bonus Boost” “Kong Respin” or “King Kong Respin”. So, nice variety to spice up the regular game every now and then.

You can see the Banana Cannon in this and Kong Respin with locked wilds in the above video at 1:40.

Bonus:

You need to collect three Kong symbols on any reel to start the bonus. Again, there are five different bonus games: “Barrel Blast” “King Kong Trail” “Empire Free Spins” “Golden Kong Free Spins” and “Big Money Bonus”. None of which are particularly exciting, but at least there are a few so not to make it overly boring. You spin the barrel at the start of bonus round to determine which bonus you will get.

In the video you can see the “King Kong Trail” version, won after the Bonus Boost feature added more Bonus symbols to the reels. Basically chosing which barrel until Kong climbs and then there is either a bomb that stops the bonus or you get to the maximum multiplier, in this case 50. Meh.

Verdict:

King Kong Cash shows it’s age by now. It is not particularly exciting game, despite the effort to pack in a variety of features and bonus types. It could not interest me long enough for an extended time of play. It’s successor, Return of the Kong Megaways, is a better game.

I guess Empire Free Spins bonus could make the difference, like it did for this guy in the video.
